Sometimes they won't take it right away. Trap them with the workstation where they cannot access anything but the work station and a bed. Make sure no other villagers can access their workstation. Cured villager won’t take a profession. I built a mob farm, and got a few zombie villagers. I cured them and 2 of them had a job when they were cured. One a tool smith and the other a fisherman. The third one was unemployed. I tried to place a lectern besides him, to obviously get a good trade. But he didn’t become a librarian. Sounds like either: he didn’t have line of sight to the workstation, or it wasn’t during the ‘Work’ hours. Villagers will only convert professions during their working hours. If you can trade with the villager already then that means he’s already claimed a profession and that’s a much bigger problem.ive tried it with like 50 different brand new villagers just dropping food or using the farmer villagers to harvest the wheat anywhere from 9 - 20 doors ive tried. it seems that the trading works to breed them but its like they dont recognize they have an inventory because they wont pick anything up. if i switch to single player creative they will pick food up asap without any doors even.
So one of the 15ish villagers you have there is tied to the lectern when you place it because he can see it, but can't get to it because you've placed trapdoors. And since it's tied to him, the villager you actually want won't take the job.
